Dr. Irčn Kossintseva, MD, FRCPC, FAAD, FACMS

Dr. Irčn Kossintseva is a true Renaissance trailblazer in the field of surgical and procedural dermatology, as she is an artist, dermatologist, reconstructive surgeon and Mohs pathologist all in one. Having been trained since the age of 6 in an arts academy and reaching acclaim though international exhibitions, she brings art to the practice of dermatologic and reconstructive surgery as well as aesthetic medicine. She is a board certified dermatologist and an ACGME fellowship trained dermatologic surgeon in both Canada and the United States.

Dr. Kossintseva is at the vanguard of appreciation of the human body and form. She received a silver medal graduating with a Bachelor of Science Honors Human Physiology, and an MD with Special Training In Research from the University of Alberta. Dr. Kossintseva completed her dermatology residency at the University of British Columbia and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and a Diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology. She graduated from ACGME-accredited fellowship in both Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Procedural Dermatology from the Oregon Health and Science University. Dr. Kossintseva is an active member with the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD), the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery (ASDS), the American College of Mohs Surgery (ACMS), the Canadian Dermatology Association (CDA), Canadian Society for Dermatologic Surgery (CSDS) and the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS). She is a proud winner of the 2015 ASDS Iron Surgeon competition medal.

As the Clinical Instructor in the Department of Dermatology and Skin Science at the University of British Columbia, Dr. Kossintseva teaches in the undergraduate, post-graduate and CME dermatology programs, as well as trains fellows in Mohs micrographic surgery and procedural dermatology. She is also the Director of the Hair Transplant Centre (www.htvancouver.com) in Vancouver. Dr. Kossintseva has published in both the American and Canadian medical journals, and has spoken at national and international conferences, including ASDS, ACMS, AAD, CDA, the Canadian Melanoma Conference (CMC), California Society of Facial Plastic Surgery (CSFPS) and has been an invited co-chair for the World Congress of Dermatology (WCD) sessions. Her research interests lie in advanced facial reconstruction, surgical ethics, peri-procedural patient anxiety and peri-operative patient satisfaction.

Dr. Kossintseva is at the forefront of reconstructive surgery, cosmetic dermatology and hair transplantation. Her extensive training in advanced surgical repairs, injectable neuromodulators, soft-tissue fillers, laser and light based devices and specialty hair transplantation techniques (including burn, trauma and transgendered patients), coupled with awarded practice in the arts is what make Dr. Kossintseva an innovator in the field of medical aesthetics.
